Minutes of October 21, 2010 Monthly Meeting

The monthly meeting was held at Southern High School, Room 102.  Vice President Kristen Vitkauskas call the meeting to order.

The secretary’s report was read for the August meeting; the minutes were approved as read.  A tree identification walk was scheduled for September in lieu of a business meeting; the walk was cut short due to inclement weather.

The treasurer’s report showed a balance of $9172.37 for August and $7815.93 for September.

Hellbender Chairman Dan Brassington provided a post race briefing. Jim Kirk made a motion to donate $75.00 to the Ridgerunners Running Club for the support provided to the Association for the Hellbender race. The motion passed. Vickie Zackowski noted that the Association’s 2010 race profit is $2715.00 to date.  Donations still need to be made to the ambulance / EMT that supported the race.

Kristen Vitkauskas reported on the WREN raingarden project that is being installed at the Southern Columbia School Campus.  Participants include retired Master Gardener Mary Jo Gibson, Southern Columbia students, Jim and Mary Kirk and Mike and Vickie Zackowski.  The project has already begun and will be completed in the spring.

With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
