ROARINGCREEKVALLEY CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION

 Minutes of June 18, 2009 Monthly Meeting

President Wayne Petro called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with 10 members present.  The meeting was held at the home of members Mike and Vickie Zackowski.

The Secretary’s report was given by Mike Zackowski and approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report, provided by Vickie Zackowski, showed a May balance of $2477.38.

Unfinished Business:

The watershed boundary signage was discussed and the members will vote on the new sign design at the July meeting.  The new design was well received but one concern noted was the space at the bottom would invite graffiti.

The Hellbender Half marathon preparation is coming along.  Brochures have been printed and are being circulated.  Volunteers will be needed to perform race day duties such as registering the participants and garbage clean-up.  Sponsor donations for items such as ice, cookies and port-a-pottie rentals are also needed.

The Association extended its appreciation to Leon Shoup for erecting the state forest trail logbook box located at the Route 54 side of the WeiserStateForest trail.

The Association’s recently published newsletter is receiving rave reviews.  Wayne Petro would like if everyone would contribute an article for the newsletter.
